The FGO currently oversees the Dartmouth King Scholarship Program, which sponsors low-income international students who are interested in alleviating poverty in their respective home countries. Students accepted to Dartmouth as King Leadership Scholars are offered a four-year scholarship, mentorship, leadership training, and internship opportunities.Â
The Dartmouth College King Scholars Program prepares today’s young scholars from developing countries to be tomorrow’s leaders in alleviating global poverty. Dartmouth College is a private Ivy League research university in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States. Upon graduation, King Scholars are expected to return to their home countries to work on poverty issues, supported by a wide network of Dartmouth alumni. Â
Dartmouth College King Scholarship Benefits
King Scholars attend Dartmouth for four years at no cost to students or their families. The benefits of this program include:
- Full Scholarships to Dartmouth
- tuition
- accommodation
- health insurance,
- a new computer in the first year, and
- annual travel between Dartmouth and the student’s home country.

Who is eligible to apply?
All eligible international applicants to Dartmouth will be considered for the King Leadership Scholar program. The Dartmouth Admissions Office selects students for this special honor who embody the vision of the program, including a commitment to alleviating poverty, a record of academic excellence, and a passion for global issues. The King Scholars Program looks for students who are:
- Involved in their communities
- Passionate about creating positive change
- Interested in alleviating poverty in their own countries
- Capable of succeeding at a top U.S. university
- Driven to succeed in whatever they do
- Proficient in English
Dartmouth King Scholarship Program application process
Interested and qualified individuals who meet the above requirements do not have to complete a separate application form to apply for this scholarship. Each applicant must complete The Common Application. All eligible international applicants to Dartmouth will be considered for the Dartmouth University King Scholarship. To apply for the scholarship, follow the procedures below:

- Click on “Apply to Dartmouth“
- Click on ‘Apply Now‘
- Click on ‘Early Admission Decision“
- Proceed with your application using the ‘Common App‘Â
- Create your Common App Account
- Fill in your personal details
- Proceed to upload all required documents
Note: Applicants to Dartmouth who are interested in the King Scholars program are also encouraged to send an additional recommendation from a mentor, teacher, advisor, community leader, friend, or clergy member through the Recommend a Scholar portal.
