The Success Summit today was great and we learnt a lot on the the S-T-R-I-V-E formular for Success (Part 4)
S stands for Study
You must study to excel and make a difference in any field of endeavour.
You must study your books if you are a student and you must study life if you want to excel in life no matter your status or cadre.
Studying equips you with information and knowledge. Knowledge gives you the power to deal with ignorance and mediocrity.
James Madison, the 4th President of America said “Knowledge will forever govern ignorance, and if we must be governors of our won selves, we must equip ourselves with the power that knowledge gives”
When you stop studying, you stop learning. When you stop learning, you become stagnant and start decaying intellectually and you begin to engage in below average performance.
Success is for those who know how to study and study well, no matter the area of endeavour.
T-stands for Try
No man achieves success in life without trying out things first. Some adventures in life may look difficult and unattainable at the first sight but you don’t need to get discouraged or give up easily. You need to try and try again no matter how challenging life is.
Trying ensures that you make your own efforts and pay the price needed for success. Don’t relax and leave everything in the hands of circumstances. When you try, the probability that you will win will be very high but when you don’t try, you become redundant in life.
Martin Luther King Jnr, said ” If you cannot fly, run! If you cannot run, walk! If you cannot walk, crawl!, But make sure you are moving by all means”. This is invariably saying that you should keep on trying no matter how difficult life seem to be and one day you will surely win.
