An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) is a prestigious, integrated, international study programme, jointly delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions. Students at Master’s level from all over the world can apply.
The Erasmus Mundus scholarship is sponsored by the European Union to the tune of 26.2 billion euros for a 7 year period and was designed to attract the best talents from around the world to Europe to help build Europe. And that is why, unlike other scholarships, this scholarship does not mandate you to return to your home country after your studies.
The scholarship has a max of 49,000 euros per awardee and this is split into 18,000 euros for school fees, health insurance, and travel insurance, 1000 euros monthly allowance(feeding and accommodation) for the 2 years of study that’s 24000 euros, 3000 euros yearly travel allowance and a 1000 euros installation fee on arrival.
The Erasmus scholarship is a joint master’s scholarship which means each program has at least 4-7 partner universities in different countries. This makes the course a Mobility course as you have to spend 1 semester in each country and also means you get at least two certificates from different universities upon graduation.
