RUFORUM MasterCard Undergraduate & Masters Scholarships for African Students
The Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) is partnering with the MasterCard Foundation, Gulu University, and Egerton University to enhance the application of science, technology, business, and innovation for rural agriculture.

The Orange Knowledge Programme, a new phase of the Orange Knowledge Programme aims to advance the development of the capacity, knowledge and of both individuals and institutions in higher and vocational education.

Every two years the Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation hosts the Young African Scholars program.
Value of Programme: The program includes:

Government of Austria ITH Fully-funded Masters Scholarships for Developing Countries
Students may attend ITH by private means or through scholarships given by the Austrian Development Cooperation. Limited number of scholarships are offered every year by the Austrian Development Cooperation.

Procedure:
- Get information about ITH from an Austrian consulate or embassy
- Download ITH application form by clicking here. Austrian embassies and consulates have this form as well.
- Application Process – all applications should be sent directly to the Institute via post.
Submission deadline is the 1st of March every year, which means the Institute has to receive the application latest by March 1st. - Confirmation – You would be informed about the result of your application by the end of April. If you were awarded a scholarship you will receive a letter of acceptance.

Mastercard University of Edinburgh Online Masters Scholarships for African Students
If you are a graduate, or are soon to graduate, as a Mastercard Foundation Scholar from a Mastercard Foundation partner institution, find out more about applying to study a postgraduate qualification online.
Value of Award:
- The scholarship will cover the full tuition fees and a small study stipend to allow for access to high-quality internet. The scholarship is designed to cover three-years of part-time online study.
- On top of financial support, Scholars will participate in activities as part of the wider Scholars Program with the University of Edinburgh, including regular online workshops with our scholars, online coaching and support, and the opportunity to attend regional scholar-led workshops and events.

Anzisha Prize $100,000 Entrepreneurs Awards for Young African Entrepreneurs
The Anzisha Prize seeks to award young entrepreneurs who have developed and implemented innovative solutions to social challenges or started successful businesses within their communities.
Value of Award: Additional investment of $8,000/ $10,000 in each Fellow
- Monetary Reward of a shared amount of $100,000
- $2,000 access to a world- renowned Entrepreneurial Leadership curriculum and training with the potential for further investment based on engagement and performance

MO IBRAHIM Foundation Leadership Fellowship Program for African Leaders
The Mo Ibrahim Foundation is financing the Ibrahim Leadership Fellowship position in the African Development Bank.
How to Apply:
- Interested candidates should complete the online form at the Bank’s website: www.afdb.org/en/about-careers/current-vacancies
- Applicants must apply online by no later than 15 March 2021.
- Applications will only be considered if they are submitted on line with a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) indicating date of birth, nationality, education and relevant experience.

- The selection process will include the Bank’s Human Resources Department carrying out an initial vetting of applications to develop a short list of ten (10) applicant files to be further reviewed by the Foundation. VLIR-UOS Masters Scholarships (ICP) by Belgium Government for Developing Countries
VLIR-UOS offers full Masters Scholarships in Belgium for students from Developing countries – half of this scholarship will be offered to African students and preference will be given for Women.
How to Apply:
- To apply for a scholarship, you first need to apply for the Master programme.
- To apply for the Masters programme, visit the website of the Master programme of your interest. Follow the guidelines for application for the programme as mentioned on its website.
- In the programme application, you can mention whether you wish to apply for a scholarship. In case you do, the programme coordinator forwards your application to VLIR-UOS.

Italy: Cattolica Africa Scholarship Program for African Masters Students
Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, as part of its mission to foster relationships with developing countries, has developed a special program for students from the African continent. This program will enable students to study for undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs taught in English at UCSC’s Milan, Piacenza and Cremona campuses.
How to Apply
- Download the application guidelines and read them carefully. Make sure you follow the instructions provided in order to properly submit your application.
- Select the degree program of your choice. You may select up to two programs. Your application will be considered for your first choice only. In case of your application being unsuccessful, will we automatically consider you for the second choice.
- Create your account, fill out the online form and upload the required documents (listed in the guidelines)
- Pay the application fee (75€, non-refundable) and submit your application. We will start processing your application after the payment of the application fee has been received: check that the status of the application in your Self Service Center is “Applied and paid”.
