Programme overview
Each Scholarship is designed to support the needs of the individual student and will be
reviewed regularly by the Scholarships Management team.
Financial Support
Full university tuition payment, for the duration of the
Scholarship (two years)
• All costs relating to internships which are offered during
the Scholarship period (including all transport, food,
accommodation, visas, etc.)
• Payment for courses and/or events (local, national or
international) that benefit professional development
• Laptop and/or phone and headphones
• High quality internet
• Financial support towards relevant study materials
(including, text books, subscriptions etc.)
• Support towards business attire in preparation
of internships)
Learning and development
• Access to Rosetta Stone Language Learning Development
• Week long development course covering the scholarship
opportunity, soft skills and the opportunity to meet lawyers
and other Fellows
• Support to develop clear educational and
professional goals
• Assistance to write a strong CV
• Personal branding and social media presence advice
• Professional interview preparation training
• Access to online DLA Piper training resources
• Internships in DLA Piper office, with commercial
and pro bono clients
• Leadership Course, delivered in partnership with
Said Business School, Oxford University in the UK
Engagement
• Regular mentoring session with high quality mentors from
DLA Piper network
• Regular meetings with the Scholarships Management team
focused on personal and professional development
• Peer and professional networking opportunities

Eligibility
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must:
1. Be studying law, and in your last to second last year of
study in your home country, or
2. Have completed a Law degree and have been accepted
to pursue a Master’s Degree in a related field in your
home country.
3. Currently be achieving, or be expected to achieve,
a first-class degree, or be in the top 10% of your class, and
4. Receive a recommendation from your university
5. Be a citizen of the country you are applying from
6. Have a good level of spoken and written English
as this will ensure you are able to fully participate
in the programme
Before you submit your application, please check you have the following:
• A letter of recommendation from the Dean Head of your law School, or Tutor
• A supporting personal statement which describes why you chose to study law, and what you want to achieve in your
career (up to 500 words)
Applications should be submitted to DLA Piper via the online application form, you will receive a link to the application form
from your university.
The application process
- University advertises opportunity to eligible students and send them
the application link. In some countries, Fellows from previous years help to
identify potential candidates and can share the link to the application form - Candidates apply via the online portal, ensuring to add all details
and supporting documents requested (candidates must include
their contact details, email and phone number) - Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be contacted by phone
for a pre-interview screening call - Candidates who eligible and pass the pre-screening assessment will be
asked to attend a face to face interview, usually at their university or
at a local DLA Piper office - All candidates (successful and unsuccessful) will be notified by email
Programme begins, students will become known as DLA Piper Fellows
and will be invited to a Development Course with all new Fellows
