Job Description Summary
This role plays a crucial part in managing and implementing Chevron’s communication strategies both internally and externally. Enhances relations between the company and its employees by coordinating internal communications, updating employees on company developments and initiatives. Building positive relationships with clients, government bodies, communities and other external stakeholders.
Other key roles include supporting the development and Implementation of communication strategies to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms that aligns with Company’s vision and reflects its values.
Serves as the point of contact for the media, issuing press releases, handling inquiries, organizing press conferences, maintaining and enhancing the image and perception of the company, etc.
Key Responsibilities
External/Internal stakeholders Engagement
- Provides support for building relationship with the media stakeholders and facilitates reputation study for the company.
- Facilitates daily media monitoring, reporting activities and monthly media content analysis and reportage. Provide support for media briefings and conferences. Supports community engagements.
- Works with the Communications team, other internal stakeholders, to plan and execute workforce engagements.
Communication
- Provides support to the team for developing communications strategy/plan.
- Supports teams responsible for internal communications.
- Facilitates the production and placement of advertisements.
Conferences & Exhibition
- Provides support during the planning and participation of Chevron at exhibitions and conferences.
Experience
- 1-5 years’ experience in Communications, Media/Journalism and Public Relations practice.
Qualification
- BA/BSc degree (minimum of second class, upper division) in Mass Communications, English/Literature, Linguistics, History or International Relations.
- Master’s degree in the above fields will be an added advantage.
Expertise
- Competency in news writing/reporting and document editing.
- Excellent news and documentary editing/production skills.
- Competency in speech writing and briefing document preparation.
- Competency in communications strategy/plan development.
- Excellent crisis management and communications skills.
