Cross section of Nigerian youths at a rally
The National Youth Council of Nigeria has urged youths in Anambra to be law abiding and participate actively in the forthcoming Nov 18 gubernatorial elections in the state.
Mr Obinna Nwaka, the Director of Political and Democratic Matters of the council made the appeal at a press conference on Friday in Abuja.
Nwaka said the youths must drop all negative agenda and use their ballot papers to install credible leadership in the state.
The director also warned politician to desist from mobilising youths and paying them stipends to ferment trouble.
Nwaka said government at all levels must ensure youths are taken off the street to stem youth restiveness.
According to him, in line with the second stanzer of the National Anthemn, leaders must let the youth the truth to know.
He urged President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the Nigerian Peace Corp bill into law as it promises to create jobs for the youth across the country.
The director disagreed with the popular idea among politians and employers which states that young Nigerian were not employable.
Nwaka said young men and women behind the scene are responsible for the successes of most leaders in the country saying it time from them to be seen.
He urged all the electorates in the state to support INEC in its constitutional duty of ensuring a free and fair elections.
