CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Introduction
The aim of the conference is to understand the drivers of economic development in Africa with emphasis on institutions and economic diversification. This aim is quite relevant at this time for at least two important reasons. First, Africa’s underdevelopment has largely been attributed to weak institutions. Second, the vulnerabilities of African economies as exposed by the recent Covid-19 Pandemic is a wake-up call for these economies to be diversified as urgently as possible. Thus, the conference aims to mainstream institutional reforms and economic diversification into economic growth and development policies in Africa, and it is our expectation that the outcomes of the conference would help to shape policy making in Africa.
Academics, researchers, civil society organizations, practitioners and postgraduate students are now invited to submit policy-relevant abstracts for inclusion in any of the sub-themes of the 3rd International Virtual Conference of the Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
