The Department of Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) has recently launched a new Centre for Economic Research. The Centre is known as The Centre for Contemporary Economics and Allied Research (CCEAR
In her welcome message, the Head, Department of Economics, UNN and Director of the Centre, Prof. Stella I. Madueme revealed that the Centre will be actively involved in conducting researches in different areas of economics such as Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Energy Economics, Gender Economics, Financial Inclusion, Food Security, SMEs, Growth and Poverty Reduction, etc. Other allied areas of research will also be incorporated in the activities of the Centre.
Also commenting on the new development, the Chairman, Department of Economics Committee on ICT and the Faculty of Social Sciences Webmaster, Dr. Tony Orji, emphasized that the adoption of cutting-edge methodologies in the analysis of Economic and Allied issues is fundamental to achieving the broad objective of the Centre and in the production of policy-relevant research outputs.
The Centre also publishes a journal, known as Journal of Economics and Allied Research (JEAR). Prof. Stella I. Madueme is the Editor-in-Chief while the Associate Editors include Dr. Emmanuel Nwosu and a cream of other national and international Professors.
