An innovative worldwide leadership program is supported by a generous grant from the Fred J. Hansen Foundation called the Hansen Leadership Institute 2023 in the USA, formerly known as the Hansen Summer Institute for Leadership and International Cooperation. The Hansen Summer Institute (HSI) is recognized as one of the best summer fellowships worldwide. The US summer exchange program will be fully funded in July 2023.
The training at the Hansen Leadership Institute aims to give students a “leadership toolkit” for resolving conflict and creating a better future for their home nations and the rest of the globe. Each year in July, this program brings together young people from conflict zones and the United States for three weeks on the campus of the University of San Diego. They join a community of Hansen Alumnae who keep in touch with one another via various media and social networking websites.
The creation of an international community of young scholars who will use their summer experience as a foundation for forming lifelong friendships and gaining shared practical skills and training for the construction of a more peaceful future is one of the main objectives of the Hansen Leadership Institute.
