But one constant view we rarely miss, regardless of the season, is the sunset, though at times the clouds obscure its bright view. Our lead photo was taken several days ago after Brooksyne saw me holding Sadie and watching the sunset through our picture window. As a family we often stop whatever we are doing and watch the sunset together. If the weather is warm enough we sit on the rocking chairs on our front porch. Ester especially has lots of sunset photos!
The daily Scripture is set to music that we often sang during the 70’s & 80’s when much of our congregational music was word for word Scripture. Perhaps you sing it even now and know it by memory: “From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised”. What an interesting way the Psalmist expresses the universal call to praise the name of the Lord directed to all people on this planet. We’re reminded of this as we received the following note, in relation to our message yesterday about “The Ultimate Essential Oil”, from a faithful Nigerian reader named Sunday: “AMEN. May God continually give us oil in our lamps to keep burning and shining His Light to a world filled with darkness.
Thank you for this message Sir.”This call is not limited geographically, for each region of planet earth experiences the rising and setting of the sun.
(Now, some astute observer will probably point out that there are certain times of the year when the sun never sets at the Polar Regions!) This call is not limited to a specific time, for this event happens daily, and in fact is always happening somewhere. This call is not limited to a specific people, for all peoples on earth today live where the sun rises and sets.We have many choices today. Some are relatively inconsequential, others are very important. The most important choice we make is to love and serve God. And one way we can do that is by joining millions of our redeemed brothers and sisters on this earth in praising the name of the Lord, at all times, in all circumstances, exalting His name above every name!
Be encouraged today,
